Night Scares
There’s a monster underneath my bed,
it straps me down and
spins my head.
When my door is closed and
the shades are drawn,
it comes out to play to keep me warm when the night is long.
There’s a toxic in the air
that emerges when the days are long.
It follows me to my sweetest escape
it stops my breath and corrupts my lung.
It robs me of my pride and strength,
it hypnotizes me and makes me numb.
There’s a voice that sounds on the other side of my mirror.
It screams and it rumbles
causing my body to shiver.
It sounds in the night
when the wolves cry to the moon.
Its vibrations break through my soul,
and create a quite frightening tune.
